The largest importer of Australian live cattle and Asia’s biggest beef breeder – Japfa Food’s Santori beef division of Indonesia has announced that it has bought the Riveren and Inverway cattle stations in Northern Australia for a reported amount in excess of $35 million. The two cattle stations encompass 550,000 hectares of pastoral lease land a breeding herd of 40,000 cattle. The purchase comes directly after Indonesia boosted its orders for Australian cattle this year by 53,000 head to meet growing demand.
