Aqua Capital Acquires Animal Nutrition Company, Reportedly Holds Close on Second Agri Fund

March 18, 2016

Aqua Capital, a private equity firm focused on agribusiness, food, and related logistics investments throughout Brazil and the Southern Cone, has acquired a majority stake in animal nutrition company, Yes, for an undisclosed amount, according to a company statement.

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in São Paulo, Yes produces animal feed additives geared at improving livestock health and performance including prebiotics, organic mineral compounds, and mycotoxin adsorbents which it markets across Brazil and exports to fourteen countries, mainly within Latin America.

“We are very happy with the arrival of Aqua. The background and knowledge the fund’s partners have on agribusiness make Aqua the best choice in our growth strategy,” said Yes CEO Victor Abou Nehmi Filho.

With the support of this investment by Aqua Capital, Yes plans to open two additional manufacturing plants in Lucélia and Bora in the state of São Paulo by the end of 2017, and plans to expand its line of prebiotics, becoming the first animal nutrition company in the world to produce four types of prebiotics.

“With Yes’s innovation capacity and Aqua’s experience, we believe 100% in our expansion trajectory,” said Yes executive technical and sales officer, Gabriel Jorge Neto.

Discussing the investment in a company statement, Aqua Capital founding partner, Sebastian Popik said, “This proves Yes’s innovation capacity, reason why we have invested in the company, the only in Brazil to offer chelated minerals, whose demand has been increasing,” adding, “Yes is a growth and innovation platform in the animal nutrition industry, and has a team of unique capacity,”
