Located in Mandeville, Louisiana, ABADIE explains that it is a multi-disciplinary energy and midstream entity. Since 2013, the company has transformed from an engineering and consulting firm to being focused on the development, investment, operations, and management of midstream assets and energy-related portfolio companies.

Now, the company announced its latest pivot, the launch of ABADIE Agriculture and Land Company with an investment of $1.1 million.

This new vehicle will pursue and develop farmland interests and/or acquisitions that would be suitable to be contracted to growers of soybeans, rice, corn, or sugarcane crops throughout North Louisiana, Illinois, and Iowa.

The team also is interested in supplemental livestock and renewable natural gas applications with an eye toward improvements that would add value such as upgrading irrigation systems, better land management, solid waste distribution and reuse, and agricultural applications.

“We have great expertise in liquid distribution and solid removal, and the cross over skills are plentiful from the energy industry,” said Tyler M. Abadie, P.E., founder and CEO, ABADIE.

“We see certain areas across the United States that provide an attractive landscape to deploy midstream practices in upgrading irrigation systems, land management, solid waste distribution and reuse, and various agriculture applications.”

Additionally, ABADIE plans to leverage its existing expertise and seasoned team of specialized energy professionals, licensed engineers, and leadership teams with a track record of success working with major oil and gas companies across the Gulf region to establish renewable natural gas (RNG) infrastructure in partnership with swine and dairy farms.

The company noted that so far, ABADIE Agriculture and Land Co. remains privately funded, but continues to maintain and nurture strong relationships with several established equity and institutional investors.
