In a cross-border agreement poised to elevate sustainable forestry, a Swiss natural capital firm is channeling its global expertise into U.S. timberlands. Silvania, a Geneva-based natural capital investment platform backed by commodity trader Mercuria, is partnering with Alder Point Capital Management, a real assets investment firm specializing in U.S. farmland, to accelerate nature-based solutions across America’s vast timberlands. Through the collaboration the firms will back real asset investments to create revenues from forestry, carbon sequestration, land and habitat conservation and the restoration of the ecosystem.

According to the announcement, Silvania has made a “significant financial commitment” to Alder Point with a view to scale sustainable investment strategies in U.S. timberland and farmland. This partnership builds on Silvania’s strategy of aligning with regional experts to foster regenerative land management.

The two firms’ areas of specialization complement each other well: Silvania contributes its expertise in nature-based solutions, environmental product markets, carbon project management, and remote sensing technologies, while Alder Point leads property acquisitions and daily operations, leveraging its track record in ecological forestry to manage climate-resilient timberland assets.

Silvania CEO Eelco Hoekstra stated, “Silvania is proud to partner with Alder Point to advance innovative solutions in carbon markets and conservation finance in the U.S. This partnership reflects our commitment to scaling nature-based solutions that deliver measurable ecological, social, and financial impact while restoring the planet’s natural balance.”

Alder Point Capital Management Managing Director Jessamine Fitzpatrick commented, “Silvania’s partnership and expertise will enable Alder Point to scale our vision of transforming U.S. timberland properties into high-impact, income-generating assets that furthers important objectives related to climate, biodiversity, and rural communities. Their leadership in nature-based solutions and environmental markets strengthens our initiatives to address ecological challenges and to support local communities in a private markets context.”

This collaboration aligns with Silvania’s broader vision of directing private capital toward biodiversity restoration and climate resilience. For ag investors, it signals growing opportunities to combine financial performance with environmental impact, particularly in U.S. timberlands, where demand for regenerative approaches is growing. Alder Point Capital Management seeks regenerative agriculture outcomes on high-quality, climate-resilient properties, targeting strong returns for investors while advancing progress in climate resilience, biodiversity, water conservation and rural prosperity.
