Midwest Ag Investment Firms Announce Merger

Two recently launched Indianapolis-based ag investment firms are merging operations. U.S. Agriculture (USAG) announced it is merging operations with Halderman Real Asset Management (HRAM) with the resulting entity operating under the name US Agriculture. Terms of the agreement were not released.

Howard Halderman, president and founder of HRAM, will assume the role of executive chairman of the new business’ board of managers. Commenting on the merger, Halderman said in a recent press release, “The deep network of relationships that the Hageman family and US Agriculture bring will open significantly more investment opportunities and allow us to expand the breadth and depth of what we offer investors.”

Other senior management appointments associated with the merger include Adam Gore joining USAG as Director of Portfolio Management, David Martin joining USAG to serve as Director of Asset Management, Brian Wise joining USAG as Director of Acquisitions, and James Boren joining USAG in the role of Controller.

Founded in 2015 by the Hageman Group, US Agriculture is an SEC registered investment advisor focusing on institutional investments in farmland. Hageman Group was founded by Steve Hageman who also founded Remington Seeds, which over the past three decades grew to become the largest non-retail corn and soybean seed producing, conditioning and distribution company.

Halderman Real Asset Management is a privately held, SEC registered investment advisor founded in 2013 by Howard Halderman. HRAM is a progression from the farm management business of Halderman Farm Management Service which was founded in 1930.

Commenting on the merger, Steve Hageman noted, “As we grew Remington Seeds, we knew that the success of our partners was fundamental to our own success. So, it was only natural that when we launched US Agriculture, we would be focused on the success of the farmers we work with. Howard and his team bring with them that same sharp focus on the success of their tenants and their partners.”
