Israel-based agtech firm, Farm Dog Technologies has successfully raised $750,000 in seed funding led by lool Ventures to be used to grow the company’s technology and its team.
Founded in 2015, Farm Dog Technologies is a provider of precision solutions through an insight platform created to suit small and medium-sized agricultural operations, which tend to have different financial concerns and goals, and use different equipment than larger entities. The platform uses in-field sensors combined with machine learning and a user dashboard to realize savings in water, fertilizer and pesticide usage of up to 25% while also creating increased yields.
Farm Dog’s team is comprised of members and veterans from Israel’s intelligence community, the farming, agronomy, post-harvest, Internet-of-Things, and farm-to-for restaurant sectors that use satellite imagery and reconnaissance to integrate and analyze data from multiple agricultural sources to provide farmers with actionable insights.
“Farm Dog’s mission to democratize the precision agriculture revolution is much needed,” said Farm Dog CEO Liron Brish. “The fact is, most technologies that help farmers grow more with less are only available to the largest of farms. This leaves over 10 million farms in the US and Europe and millions more around the world searching for solutions to maintain their competitiveness.”
