The duo is turning a promising pilot into a formal partnership, rolling out AI-powered crop management solutions to agricultural retailers in the Midwest targeting their grower customers starting with the 2026 growing season.
This collaboration paves the way for agricultural retailers to harness Taranis’ leaf-level AI Crop Intelligence alongside Syngenta’s leading crop protection solutions. It equips local retailers with advanced AI that detects crop issues early, down to the individual leaf, while integrating with Syngenta’s widely used lineup of protective products. The aim is to simplify daily operations for retailers, deliver growers quick and targeted solutions to protect their harvests, and eliminate much of the uncertainty that comes with manual scouting.
Syngenta President of Crop Protection and regional director of North America Vern Hawkins stated, “AI is agriculture’s next transformative breakthrough. The results from our 2025 collaboration with Taranis were clear ─ retailers saw how AI Crop Intelligence along with our leading crop protection portfolio created value for both their businesses and growers. Early tests delivered promising results, showcasing the potential of this integrated approach. Taranis Chief Commercial Officer Jason Minton explained, “Throughout 2025, participating retailers reported using Taranis’ AI early detection capabilities combined with Syngenta’s leading crop protection solutions to address field issues sooner, helping maximize yield. These improvements in operational efficiency and crop outcomes are guiding the partnership’s next steps, which focus on expanding the program across the Midwest through targeted ag retail partners in 2026. To support this rollout, the updated AI Crop Intelligence platform will add new features to Taranis’ Ag Assistant, including yield projection algorithms, all underpinned by the company’s leaf-level AI analysis.
