The latest in our “speed dating” series that introduces agtech companies to our audience is this feature on Clicrtechnologies. Based in Florida, the mission of Clicrtechnologies is to develop proprietary technology to enhance the lives of its users by providing the most advanced vision software for a multitude of applications, especially in agriculture. For example, this 3D vision technology will provide ranchers with a new, more efficient method to weigh their livestock, and also the ability to increase the frequency at which they weigh them. The advantages of this includes more accurate dosing for medicating, as well as knowing the optimum time to ship the livestock.
GAI News caught up with the company chairman and CEO, Joey Spicola Sr., to get the details.
1). Tell us about your company.
Clicrtechnologies is a 3D imaging company that takes a scan and produces a weight for farm and ranch animals. We’ve developed a physical apparatus and associated cloud-based application that ascertains the estimated weight and growth pattern history for a variety of animals such as cattle, swine, gators, and others. It then displays the information in an easy-to-read report. The company has been in business for over 16 years developing this technology through trial and error.
2). Tell us about your technology and what changes it will bring about.
Our technology is considered disruptive to say the least. With our proprietary algorithms, our measurements are within 95 percent precision compared to a gravity scale. The technology allows medium to large livestock business owners to have at their fingertips, vital information for managing their farms without the need of physically being there.
This is real time information that not only informs customers of the animal weight, but also provides details about each individual animal’s history, including growth patterns, feed consumption, and farm management information. It allows comparison of animal-to-animal growth to better understand feeding patterns and average daily weight gain, which assists owners in modifying a specific installation for better efficiency and cost reductions.
A simple explanation of what this technology delivers is that a farmer can manage a very labor-intensive portion of their business remotely and without placing unnecessary stress on their livestock, while at the same time reducing labor costs. Information, efficiency, cost, health, pollution, and a growing population are just a few of the current day concerns in the agricultural sector. We are helping to bridge informational gaps in livestock management that are necessary to fully evaluate the truest state of an operation’s performance for better efficiency and productivity.
3). Tell us why the GAI investment and agribusiness audience should be interested.
Most simply put, we can answer the questions every farmer struggles with daily, such as how much do their livestock weigh, do they need more feed, are they healthy, and am I making or losing money? Not to mention, anything that brings less stress to the animal and increases profitability will win the day.
There are no other systems that can compare to this system and are doing what we can do with only photos. There are others in the beginning stages of developing this type of technology, but they will soon find out that there are many obstacles that ClicR has already overcome.
As stated above, over the years we have tried various ways of accomplishing every aspect of obtaining this vital information. From years of trial and error, we know what works and what does not work. We have spent time and many dollars on research and development and know from our results, this is now a reliable tool. We believe that the future of this technology will bring many changes to the agricultural industry because as we like to say, businesses will need to either embrace technology or be left behind.
