After being brought to St. Louis following a $100,000 investment from the Yield Lab, Argentinian agtech startup, Solapa4 has announced it is establishing its North American headquarters in the city.
Founded in 2010, Solapa4 uses gathered data and analytics to determine the agricultural potential and performance of land to help farmers made more informed production decisions.
Led by chief executive, Rodrigo Ramirez Crouchett and chief financial officer, Tomas Pena, Solapa4 has hired Audrey MacKenzie as its director of U.S. operations and business development. MacKenzie was previously director of strategic operations at St. Louis-based, software and IT-focused venture capital firm, Verge Ventures.
Solapa4 was one of five companies to comprise The Yield Lab’s first class of investee companies this January. Launched in September 2014 and backed by Cultivation Capital, The Yield Lab is an accelerator program led by former Novus International chief executive, Thad Simons which is focused on supporting agricultural technology startups.
