Forever Feed Technologies announced it has secured an undisclosed, but multi-million dollar investment, from a group of dairy and agriculture leaders to support its work developing enterprise scale, automated indoor-growing feed mills.
Participating in the round were River Ranch Farms, Bar 20 Dairy, and Producers Dairy Products, all of California, and De Jong Family Farms from Indiana, along with other unnamed agricultural leaders.
“We’re pleased to have assembled some of the most respected dairy and agriculture leaders in the country to participate in our funding round,” said Steve Lindsley, CEO, Forever Feed Technologies.
“Forever Feed is committed to building world class water-saving technology that will allow our customers, anywhere in the world, to sustainably grow cattle feed 365-days a year.”
It’s a surprising number, but currently, as much as 40 percent of all U.S. arable land is used to grow or to provide for animal feed.
The ability to grow livestock feed through indoor agriculture year-round offers a transformative solution to the challenges facing modern agriculture. Its positive impacts are wide-reaching and extend to environmental conservation, animal welfare, and global food security.
In addition, the ability for farmers and ranchers to grow feed and fodder year-round on-site allows them to side-step supply or sourcing issues, and to distance themselves from the price volatility that often happens due to adverse weather conditions.
“Our company is committed to building a sustainable future for generations to come,” said Steve Shehadey, owner, Bar 20 Dairy. “The Forever Feed Mill solution will provide a predictive water-saving and decarbonizing platform that we believe will enhance the output and welfare for our animals while reducing the environmental impact here in the greater Fresno area and potentially all around the world.”
With development underway and capital in-hand, Forever Feed Technologies stated that it has already partnered with international automation and engineering design firms to bring its Forever Feed Mill system to market, adding that more details will be released in the near future.
“Investing in a sustainable future for cattle feed complements similar water and decarbonizing investments, like the many successful digester and manure management projects currently in operation around the country,” said Jack de Jong, chairman, Forever Feed Technologies and owner, River Ranch Farms.
“We have great confidence in the impressive business and development strategy that Steve and his management team have built.”
