Peter is a recently retired (June 2015) Managing Director at Cambridge Associates. He is now focusing on promoting agriculture as an institutional investment class and developing appropriate investment vehicles. He is a Senior Partner and CIO with Aqueduct Investment Partners. During his tenure at Cambridge Associates he was responsible for research efforts related to agriculture, timber and water. He also advised several institutional clients across the globe, with an emphasis in Hong Kong, and helped to develop the firm’s pension practice in the U.K. Peter has previously served as the head of the Singapore office, where he managed a team of investment consultants, specialist consultants, and research staff. He has contributed to several research projects and is a frequent presenter at industry conferences. He has also been involved in strategic planning for the firm. Peter has extensive experience in global financial and investment arenas. After qualifying as an accountant he became the deputy CIO for the Derbyshire County Council pension scheme and later the CIO of the South Yorkshire County Council pension scheme. He was the founding CEO of the pension fund performance measurement service Combined Actuarial Performance Services. He held the position of CIO for the Halifax Building Society’s pension scheme before becoming the head of the society’s financial services business. Before joining Cambridge Associates in 2001 he held the positions of CEO of the Save & Prosper Group within the Robert Fleming Group and head of the financial services division of the Great Universal Stores Group. Peter is an Associate, United Kingdom Society of Investment Professionals, a regular member of the CFA, and received his BA in Politics and Economics from Durham University.
