AB Linas Agro Group Received the Permission to Acquire Poultry Companies in Latvia

AB Linas Agro Group received approval from the Competition Council of the Republic of Latvia to acquire poultry companies in that country for a total cost of €13 million.  Through the deal Agro Group will acquire 87% of AS Putnu fabrika Kekava, 100% of SIA Broileks, 100% of SIA Cerova, and 100% of SIA Lielzeltini.  The largest of the companies, AS Putnu fabrika Kekava controls the entire production process from egg laying to finished poultry products.  The other three companies are already working together, each controlling different stages of production.  Combined revenues of all four companies for 2012 totaled €57.2 million.  The transaction is expected to close by January 2014.
