Bert is the founder and Managing Director of Impact Ag Partners whose expertise has been instrumental in the strategic approach the asset management company has taken to real asset investing in agriculture and creating value for investment partners.
Bert has turned his 25 years of agribusiness experience towards asset management to meet the growing demand from investors who wish to invest in Agriculture as an impact investment and profitable nature-based solution.
Impact Ag Partners has over $200 AUM across Australia, 100,000 acres of farmland across three states with annual and permanent crops and integrating grazing livestock. These have produced 2% increase in soil carbon sequestration and monetised $1 million AUD in eco system services. This approach creates value through practicing regenerative agriculture as a nature-based solution.
Impact Ag Partners identifies value dislocation in real asset markets and delivers cash returns from the operations. They partner with investors through separate managed accounts to make direct investments.
Bert has served as CEO and is a co-founder of agricultural software company Maia Technology which develops decision support and farm management applications for the global agricultural industry.
Bert is a frequent guest lecturer in Agricultural Key Performance Indicators at the University of New England, Australia’s leading agricultural university. As a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, he currently holds positions on private company and NFP boards.
