Cotton Producer Sale May Reap $180 Million

One of Australia’s largest cotton producers Eastern Australia Agriculture (EAA) which owns and operates one of the largest pieces of irrigated land in southern Queensland and holds one of the largest water entitlements in Australia has been placed for sale on the international market.  The sale is expected to earn at least $180 million, second only to the sale of the Cubbie Station for $232 million to Chinese and Japanese investors.  EAA’s main properties are Kia Ord and Clyde in southern Queensland. The total 37,590 hectares is made up of 12,800 hectares of irrigated land with the possibility of further development.  EAA’s total portfolio has a production capacity of 144,000 bales of cotton per year, 273,145 megaliter water storage, and 66,994 megaliter water entitlement making it one of Australia’s largest water holders by volume and value.
