Bill Randall

March 28, 2016

Bill co-founded Andean Cacao Ltd. (ACL) in 2013 seeing a unique opportunity to convert Colombian freehold cattle-grazing land and integrating smallholder farmers to create one of the largest sustainable high-tech cacao producing platforms in the world. Currently managing 1250 Ha, Bill and the ACL team have a vision to build the platform to reach 5000 Ha over the next several years, bringing together technology, institutional governance and a clear strategy for sustainability. The group saw a large gap between the market’s demand for a professionally managed provider of consistent high quality cacao and the traditional family run or informal small farmer approach to Cacao farming.

Bill has brought together a team of finance, technical, and cacao agronomy professionals from around the world to participate in the development of Andean Cacao, providing what aims to be best in class agricultural management practices. He has been involved in agriculture venture capital and private equity in South East Asia and Latin America for the last 15 years, and has been working in emerging markets for more than 25 years. He is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and currently resides in Colombia.
