Karen Studer-Rabeler joined Michigan State University in May 2015 to serve as the Michigan Translational Research and Commercialization (MTRAC) Program Director. The Program facilitates commercialization of AgBio technologies and expanded to become the statewide MTRAC Innovation Hub for AgBio in September 2016, enabling researchers from across Michigan to participate in the Program. Karen has a broad base of experience encompassing product development, project management, technology commercialization, as well as marketing and field sales in both large and small companies. As Vice President of Business Development at Coy Laboratory Products, she expanded their life science tool offering with successful launches of both internally developed products and distribution of complimentary international partner products. While at the University of Michigan’s Office of Technology Transfer for 8 years, she managed the New Business Development Group and personally assisted in the creation of new businesses based on university technology, developing the program to be recognized as a nationwide leader in start-up business formation from academia.
