Marc Gottschalk is a partner in the Palo Alto office and a co-leader of Sidley’s corporate venture capital group, which represents strategic venture investors in the technology, life sciences, financial services and consumer products/lifestyle sectors. In addition to advising corporate investors, Marc’s core areas of practice also include advising cleantech and other emerging growth companies in corporation formation and venture finance transactions. He is the co-founder and board chair of the Cleantech Open, a world-leading organization that provides vital resources inventors and entrepreneurs need to take cleantech innovations from concept to operating business. Marc previously served as the co-chair of the Energy and Clean Technology practice at a well known high technology law firm. While there, he assisted dozens of innovative cleantech companies go to market. Prior to joining Sidley, Marc served as chief business development officer and general counsel for Proterra Inc., a leading manufacturer of advanced electric drive and energy storage solutions for heavy duty vehicles.
