Michael joined NCH Capital in 2003 and is based in Kiev. He is responsible for identifying and developing NCH’s investments in Ukraine, and in certain sectors in Russia, Moldova, and Albania. Michael oversees NCH’s agribusiness portfolio in Ukraine, known as AgroProsperis Group, which he has built from inception, in the process deploying more than $730 million. The AgroProsperis portfolio includes 50 farms across western, central and northeast Ukraine, as well as numerous businesses across the agricultural supply chain, including lending, distribution, storage, and transportation. Prior to NCH, Mr. Bertram was the Vice President and Head of Industry Group at ABB Equity Ventures, where he oversaw investments aggregating $750 million over six years. Before that he was Business Development Manager responsible for private infrastructure projects at ABB. Prior to that, Mr. Bertram was Cost and Risk Manager in ABB’s power generation division. Mr. Bertram received a Diploma in Nuclear Engineering from the Odessa Technical Institute and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
