Simon Hopkins

Simon Hopkins is a successful entrepreneur and investment manager. Today, he serves as the CEO of diversified investment company, Milltrust International Group, and Chairman of Milltrust Agricultural Investments Ltd (MAI). MAI originates and provides access to farmland investments, leveraging a broad international network of leading local agricultural partners. It offers institutional investors access to farmland portfolios diversified across geographies, climates and crops and, separately, provides corporate advisory and undertakes capital raising activities for agricultural projects. We have two key asset management strategies: Global Diversified & Buy & Lease. MAI is also an advisor to the British Innovation Fund, sponsoring and investing into technology from UK universities.

Mr. Hopkins comes from a rural community in Staffordshire, UK. His family have been farming in the UK and Australia for several generations. In 1996, he embarked on a 4 month trip to Far North Queensland and the Northern Territory to evaluate investment opportunities in Australian Northern Beef. In 1999, he invested into Maryborough Sugar Factory, a listed sugar cane producer in Queensland, Australia which was later sold to Mitr Phol of Thailand in 2012 for an annual IIR exceeding 20 percent. He has undertaken numerous agricultural consulting projects and has chaired and spoken at numerous of industry leading events including Terrapin, PEI, Global Grains, and Global Agri Investing. He graduated from the University of Bristol Faculty of Law (LLB Hons) in 1986.
