One of the world’s largest dairy products groups, France-based Lactalis, will acquire a 70% stake in Hyderabad-based Tirumala Milk Products in the first week of January 2014. The private equity firm Carlyle Group which owns 20% of Tirumala is expected to completely exit the company and the four promoters of the company will divest 50% of their 80% equity. Lactalis is one of the largest dairy products companies in the world with operations in 150 countries. The total valuation of the deal is set at €220 million.
