Tanner Ehmke is manager of CoBank’s Knowledge Exchange Division, which provides market and industry research on sectors affecting the rural economy, including grains, oilseeds, biofuels and farm supply; animal protein; dairy; specialty crops; and power, energy and water. Prior to joining CoBank in 2015, he marketed seed for his family’s seed company in western Kansas, where his family has farmed since 1885. Mr. Ehmke previously was a commodities analyst at an agricultural market research and advisory firm in Chicago, a commodity markets reporter for Dow Jones at the Chicago Board of Trade, and an agricultural journalist covering crop production and farm business management. He continues to maintain an active role in farming today. Mr. Ehmke holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics and a master’s degree in agricultural business, both from Kansas State University.
Dan Kowalski is an economist and vice president of CoBank’s Knowledge Exchange Division. In that role, he leads a team of economists that produces research for the agricultural and infrastructure industries that CoBank serves. He also provides commentary on how the U.S. and global economies affect rural America. Prior to joining CoBank in 2011, Mr. Kowalski worked with an economics consulting firm, providing research and advisory services to the food and agribusiness industries. Mr. Kowalski holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree in agricultural economics from Pennsylvania State University.
Will Sawyer is lead animal protein economist in CoBank’s Knowledge Exchange research division, where his focus is on providing market and industry research for the pork, poultry and beef sectors. Prior to joining CoBank in 2018, Mr. Sawyer was director of corporate development animal protein at JAMAS Capital providing strategic and investment analysis for the firm’s expanding portfolio of animal protein investments primarily in the poultry sector. Mr. Sawyer previously served as executive director of animal protein research at Rabobank in Atlanta, Georgia, and New York, New York, analyzing the pork and poultry sectors across North America. Mr. Sawyer holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s in accountancy from Wake Forest University.
Mr. Zuckerberg brings more than 30 years of diverse experience spanning securities analysis, investment management, and banking. Most recently, he was a sector manager and senior strategist for Wells Fargo’s Food and Agribusiness Industry Advisors Group, and previously held a similar role at Rabobank U.A. Earlier in his career, Mr. Zuckerberg was founder and managing partner for Carlan Advisors LLC, an independent research and consulting firm. Prior to that, he was a senior equity research analyst at Lazard Asset Management, Keefe, Bruyette and Woods, Inc., and Smith Barney, Inc. Mr. Zuckerberg earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of South Florida and is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania – Wharton Executive Education General Management Program (GMP). He is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary AIF®, an Accredited Financial Analyst AFA® and completed Levels I and II of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) program.
