Global AgInvesting (GAI), a premier convener of the global ag community, concluded a highly successful year, marked by robust investor participation at its three flagship conferences across the Americas, Europe and Asia. Building on this momentum, GAI is poised for another year of exceptional growth in 2025. With a significantly expanded team, including several key new hires, Global AgInvesting remains at the forefront of the industry, delivering unparalleled conference experiences and fostering valuable connections within the global ag ecosystem.
According to the latest data from McKinsey, the value of the global food and agribusiness industry hovers at $5 trillion. Since its inception in 2009, Global AgInvesting has been at the forefront of key ag industry trends, ranging from agtech and robotics to natural capital and food security. With green shoots of recovery emerging in venture capital funding, ag startups are lining up for their share of the investment windfall. Meanwhile, major financial institutions and private investors are staying true to their farming roots, proving that they are wiling to back the most innovative solutions to the industry’s greatest challenges. This confluence of capital and innovation has the potential to revolutionize how we produce, distribute and consume food, ensuring a more sustainable and resilient future for agriculture.
Earlier this year, GAI announced the appointment of Jon Levin, a seasoned event specialist, as the new Portfolio Director. With close to 15 years of experience spearheading major events, Levin led a smooth transition to the next regime. Demonstrating its truly international reach, GAI saw a remarkable global turnout in 2024. With 16 countries represented at the New York event, 10 at the Asia gathering in Tokyo and 18 at the London edition, GAI solidified its position as a truly global platform connecting industry leaders from around the world. This positive momentum is set to continue into 2025 and beyond.
Additionally, Levin has also managed to build out the GAI team with multiple new hires, all of whom bring a deep understanding of the ag industry with them. In 2024, Global AgInvesting welcomed…
- Scott Cohen as the new Sales Director, Investor Relations
- Philippe L’Equilbec as Senior Advisor, Timber and Natural Capital
- James Bowen as the GAI Sales Manager
- Daiton Donkers as GAI’s new Marketing Manager
- Ethan Schwartz as the new Event Support Specialist
Global AgInvesting Portfolio Director Jon Levin stated, “The momentum of 2024 has ignited incredible anticipation for the year ahead, particularly with our New York conference on the horizon. This year’s success is a resounding tribute to the exceptional team we’ve assembled at GAI. Each member contributes a unique perspective, solidifying Global AgInvesting’s position as the premier platform for agricultural investment. We foster meaningful engagement across the global community, and together, we are laying the groundwork for even greater achievements in 2025.”
HighQuest Partners Founder Greg Mellinger commented, “From Global AgInvesting’s founding in 2009 to today, the one constant has been evolution. Starting with agendas focused on farmland, GAI sessions under Jon Levin’s leadership embrace natural capital, credit, private equity and timber at deeper levels of coverage and delegate engagement recently on display at GAI Tokyo and GAI London. Jon has also improved audience composition, resulting in all-time high investor participation this fall of 2024. These improvements continue into 2025 as Global AgInvesting paces towards record sign ups of allocators and bookings of featured speakers.”
As we embark on 2025, Global AgInvesting is excited to kick off the year with our flagship U.S. event, GAI New York, returning to Midtown Manhattan in the spring. This year’s gathering will convene a distinguished community of agriculture, timber and natural capital investors, landowners and other industry leaders for unparalleled networking and education. We will delve into critical industry themes, including the transformative shift towards natural capital, and explore sustainable strategies to fund the future of global agriculture. Based on the resounding success of past GAI events, this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss.
