Limoneira Acquires 760 Acres of Agriculture Property

One hundred and twenty year old – Santa Paula, California-based Limoneira Co. has announced it has acquired 760 acres of agricultural land consisting of 400 acres of productive lemon orchards and 360 acres used for cattle grazing in Porterville, California.  This purchase which includes water rights, equipment, and supplies brings Limoneira’s total land holding to over 1,000 acres in the San Joaquin Valley alone.  The company owns, leases, or manages a total of 10,000 acres in Arizona and California with total lemon orchard acreage of approximately 3,400 acres across the two states.  Currently Limoneira expects lemon production to reach 200,000 cartons for fiscal year 2014 and expects production to increase by an additional 100,000 cartons per year after redevelopment of the newly acquired property to make total future yearly production between 300,000 and 350,000 cartons.
