Mitsubishi Corporation has announced it has formed a joint venture with Zhejiang Ocean Family Co. Ltd. (ZOF) to create the new company Zhejiang Daling Seafood Co. Ltd. to be located in Hagzhou, China. ZOF was a pioneer in developing the sushi and sashimi markets in China and was first to establish seafood counters in high-end supermarkets and department stores in that country. The new company will expand the range of products sold on the Chinese market including Chilean farmed salmon, Thai farmed shrimp, and Japanese farmed tuna. The company will also market fresh seafood caught by ZOF’s vessels, scallops, saury, and yellowtail from Japan.
