Snackfood giant Mondelez International has announced plans to invest over $100 million in a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant at its Obava site in the Czech Republic. The factory will produce Oreo cookies and belVita breakfast biscuits. The plant will create new capacity enabling the company to meet current and future demand with the ability to make over 1 million Oreo cookies per day The investment builds on Mondelez’ $240 million the company has invested across the European biscuit network since 2010 including sites in France, the UK, and Central Europe. Since 2009 net revenues for Oreo and belVita have increased 25% and 18% respectively in Europe. Mondelez is a global snack food leader with brands such as Cadbury, Nabisco, Tang, and Trident gum with revenues in 2012 of $35 billion.
