New Go2 Foods Acquires Yorkshire Company

January 7, 2016

Go2 Foods, the investment vehicle established by former CEO of Glisten snack food company, Paul Simmonds, and Glisten co-founder, Rob Davies, has announced it has agreed to acquire The Real Yorkshire Pudding Company (RYP) for an undisclosed amount, according to The Business Desk.

The structure of the deal will be a buy-in, buy-out through which the company founders, Paul and Marie Holmes, who hold a 95% stake in the company, will exit. Managing director, Charles Payne, who controls the remaining 5% of the company will remain in place and will run the company after the closing.

Founded in 1991, The Real Yorkshire Pudding Company produces more than 1.6 million chilled and frozen puddings per week, or more than 100 million puddings per year, supplying UK foodservice providers and retailers, as well as exporting to Canada and Australia. The company has also recently expanded its product offerings to include a gluten-free line of Yorkshire puddings and toad in the hole.

Paul Simmonds, told Insider Media “We formed Go2 because we saw a great opportunity to work alongside Charles (Payne) and his team to build on a high-quality platform which was already producing really good product, providing excellent customer service, and with the beginnings of a free-form offering in meal-solutions. We hope to grow both Go2 and RYP organically and through acquisition in the years ahead. RYP is a great start to our new venture.”
