Canadian beef slaughter business, True North Foods, is working with WYNN Agricultural Investment Management, forging a partnership that will give True North lucrative access to China’s beef market. WYNN, led by a Chinese immigrant to Manitoba, has bought ranchland in the province, and has helped other Chinese investors to acquire farmland as well, forming a potential cattle and grain farming network in Manitoba, with the goal of establishing what WYNN president, Will Yue, calls a “Chinese agricultural community” of possibly 100,000 acres or more. True North Foods has been in negotiations with WYNN, which has been investing in cattle production and infrastructure in Manitoba, through which WYNN would raise cattle in Manitoba, True North would be their processor, and WYNN would secure buyers in China.
