The government of Turkey has announced that it will subsidize qualifying agricultural investments in the country by 50% in a move to improve agricultural infrastructure and systems. Qualifying projects would need to improve efficiency or create capacity in rural development projects or societies. The announcement of the subsidy by the country’s Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ministry was also accompanies by the initiatives to protect natural resources and the environment, increase rural incomes, and support agricultural SMEs. Projects that entail the construction of agricultural processing facilities, agricultural storage and packaging facilities, the construction of greenhouses that use alternative energy, or projects that entail fixed investment for agricultural production, processing or storage of animal-originated fertilizers would all be considered as qualifying for the subsidy.
