Canada’s Viterra will be investing over $34 million into its Alberta elevator network through two projects. The first project will be the construction of a new high throughput grain terminal with a 104 railcar loading capability and 30,000 tons of grain storage in Grimshaw, Alberta. This project comes closely after the company built a state-of-the-art grain terminal in Sexsmith, Alberta in 2010. The second project is the expansion of its grain terminal in Grassy Lake, Alberta. Storage capacity will be increased by 14,000 tons to 36,500 tons along with improvements to logistical flexibility and efficiency. Earlier this year in May the company announced it was investing more than $20 million to upgrade four of its Saskatchewan terminals.
