New Zealand dairy farm manager MyFarm announced an initial public offering (IPO) in a new dairy farm investment to be immediately quoted on its new securities trading platform, MyFarm Trading. The IPO will be in Gold Creek Farm Limited Partnership (GCF) which is a collective investment vehicle (CIV) created to enable smaller investors to invest as little as $20,000 in the MyFarm dairy syndicate. GCF is purchasing a 620 cow dairy 17 km north of Gore in New Zealand. Upon settlement of the purchase, shares in GCF investment will be quoted on MyFarm Trading. By early 2014 MyFarm expects to have four other CIVs quoted on the exchange with total assets of $6.15 million with an average of 28 investors each, with individual investments ranging between $20,000 and $250,000. This platform will remove many of the barriers to investing in New Zealand dairy which has delivered a compounded annual gross return of 13% per year. The platform will deliver access and liquidity to investors in the dairy sector, and provide the New Zealand dairy industry with access to capital.
