Kagome Australia, the largest tomato processor in Australia and a subsidiary of Kagome Japan, the largest producer of tomato-based ingredients in Japan, will invest $21 million with the assistance of the Victorian government to expand its supply capability in order to target export markets in Asia. The expansion will include the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, a carrot concentrate production line, and a packaging facility in Echuca. The investment will result in Kagome Australia becoming the first fully vertically integrated affiliate of the Kagome Group worldwide. Once the expansion is complete, Kagome Australia intends to make significant shipments of carrot concentrate to both Indian and Asian markets.
