Private equity firm, Resource Partners, has announced the majority buyout of leading Polish producer and supplier of industrial poultry, swine, and cattle feed, Golpasz S.A. for an undisclosed amount.
Founded in 1968 and headquartered in Golub-Dobrzyn, Golpasz claims a total of four production sites in Northern and Central Poland. Earlier this year the company invested in its fourth site – a modern production facility in Podkonice Duze, which resulted in the doubling of the company’s production capacity.
“We are impressed by the success of Polish poultry industry, which in the recent years has become the leader within the European Union,” said Aleksander Kacprzyk, Managing Partner of Resource Partners in a company release announcing the acquisition. “With the opening of the modern plant, Golpasz is fully prepared to respond to the market potential of the rapidly growing Polish poultry industry, by providing its current and new customers with the highest quality products at attractive prices."
Established in 2009, Resource Partners in an independent, partner-owned firm that pursues equity investments in fast growing, small and medium sized companies focused on food and agriculture which are located in Central and Eastern Europe. The firm focuses on deals with comapnies that can supplement the firm’s record of managing rapid growth, both organic and acquisition-driven, according to the firm’s website.
Looking to the future, Resource Partners states that it plans to fully utilize the production capacity obtained through the deal, while also keeping an eye toward future expansion and being active in the continuing consolidation within the growing Polish animal feed sector.
