Agricultural and animal science data management and analytics company, AGDATA, announced the strategic acquisition of Focus Technology Group (FTG).
FTG is a provider of data solutions and services to clients within the agriculture, animal health, and specialty pet sectors. AGDATA expects the integration of the group to be highly complimentary and is expecting FTG to provide AGDATA access to new markets and to strengthen its standing as a leader within the global data-driven solutions space for the animal health industry while FTG foresees a strengthening of its services through the deal.
“We believe that the combination of our expertise in the animal health market with AGDATA’s infrastructure, scaleand data management experience will allow us to enhance and expand our services,” said Jimmy Haverstick, CEO and Founder of FTG in a recent press release.
In addition, as AGDATA pursues accelerated growth and expansion, the company has announced the appointment of Andy Zupsic as the company’s new chief executive officer. Having begun his career at IBM, Mr. Zupsic has been responsible for a range of operational duties in both domestic and international senior roles at Microsoft, Juniper Networks, and Progress Software. Mr. Zupsic will be replacing Richard Bettison who will assume the role of Board Advisor.

Founded in 1985 and with established operations in the U.S. and Canada, AGDATA has seen multiple years of increasing revenues and return on investment for its customers. The acquisition of FTG and the appointment of Mr. Zupsic are the latest moves to support the company’s growth as it expands into the Latin American market with its launch in Brazil.
