The Japan-based food and beverage company Asahi Group Holdings Ltd. announced it is buying the Malaysian dairy firm Etika Dairies Sdn Bhd from Etika International Holdings Ltd for US$329 million. Asahi, which is well known for its beer in Japan, is looking to boost condescended milk sales in the region and states that it expects stable growth in the dairy sector in the region going into the future. Etika also operates in Vietnam and Indonesia and exports its products across Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
