According to the latest long-term predictions by Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, total Brazilian meat production will increase by 22.5% in the next 10 years to reach 10.9 million tons, while exports are forecast to increase by 29% in the same period to 1.88 million tons. The greatest increase is expected in the poultry sector which is expected to increase by 46% with Brazil maintaining its position as the world’s largest chicken exporter – exporting an estimated 4.67 million tons. Brazilian pork production is expected to increase by 21% to 4.2 million tons. Grain output is expected to coincide with these increases. Corn production will increase 20% over the next 10 years to 93.6 million tons and Brazilian soybean production is expected to increase 22% to reach 99.2 million tons by 2022-23.
