Brief: Style Limited Ventures Into Agribusiness with $20 Million Purchase of Norwest Seafoods

By Lynda Kiernan

Perth, Australia-based researcher, developer, producer, and marketer of environmentally friendly flooring, Style Limited, has made its first venture into agribusiness with the $20 million purchase of Carnarvon-based Norwest Seafoods.

The company supplies domestic, European, and Asian markets with king and tiger prawns and a wide range of other seafoods.

Run by Kel Brown for the past 22 years, Norwest is the largest single operator in the Shark Bay Prawn Fishery, operating 10 of the 18 licenses.

Mr. Brown plans to stay involved in the business as Style Limited further develops the business and integrates it into other spaces. “The people that presented the opportunity are buying it for all the right reasons. It’s good for the team, the presence remains in Carnarvon, it secures the future for all the staff and me for the next couple of years I guess and it was just a good fit,” he said.
