DuPont and Monsanto are moving forward and joining in licensing pacts to share certain new soybean seed traits after calling a halt to their legal battle over engineered soybean technology. The agreement gives both companies greater flexibility in developing combinations of traits that will increasingly help feed the planet. In the court settlement Monsanto will dismiss its claim that DuPont infringed older patents for RoundUp Ready soybeans and DuPont will dismiss its counterclaim that Monsanto was using monopoly power to dominate seed sales and research.
