Evans Analytical Group (EAG) an independent, fully integrated laboratory network offering testing and analytical services to a range of agrochemical and pharmaceutical companies, has acquired Columbia, Missouri-based Analytical Bio-Chemistry Laboratories, Inc. (ABC).
ABC provides a wide range of GLP-compliant and agricultural product development testing services to the agrochemical sector through its Environmental Services division, as well as comprehensive development and CGMP and GLP-compliant testing for both large and small molecule therapies and medical devices through its Pharmaceutical Services division.
As ag bio-tech advances develop at an ever quicker pace, and new regulations designed to safeguard the food supply continue to evolve, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and its global equivalents require extensive and comprehensive studies prior to the release of agrochemicals for commercial use. The acquisition of ABC will expand EAG’s existing laboratory presence in both the U.S. and Europe, and will help to further its position as a leader in this increasingly key link in the agricultural chain.
Siddhartha Kadia, PhD., chief executive of EAG says, “The combination of the EAG ChemEco and ABC businesses will provide an unparalleled capacity for scientific studies in biology and chemistry, and specifically in analytical chemistry, residue analysis, avian and aquatic ecotoxicology studies, plant metabolism testing, and environmental fate studies.”
EAG, which is owned by Odyssey Investment Partners, LLC, has targeted the creation of a leading, diversified, laboratory testing company to grow its presence in the agrochemical and life sciences markets. Randy Paulson, managing principal at Odyssey says, “In the last 15 months, we have significantly strengthened the management team under the leadership of Dr. Kadia and we are particularly pleased to further expand the rapidly growing ChemEco division of EAG.”
