Feronia Inc. Announces Commencement of Crude Palm Oil at Yaligimba Palm Oil Mill

After its original mill which was built in 1946 closed in 2008, Feronia Inc. has announced the commencement of crude palm oil at its new mill at its Yaligimba plantation in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  The company has begun harvesting the plantation’s 3,757 hectares of producing oil palm bringing the total number of hectares contributing to production by 63% from 5,952 to 9,709 hectares.  Initial processing capacity at the new plant is 105,000 tons of fresh fruit bunches per year with a phase II expansion planned for 2016. Current combined processing capacity at the company’s three plants equals 220,000 tons of fresh fruit bunches per year.
