Mr. Jeff Conrad, founder and former president of Hancock Agricultural Investment Group (HAIG) has launched a new agricultural investment firm. AgIS Capital is a Boston-based, employee-owned boutique investment management firm focused on exploiting emerging opportunities in the agricultural investment sector. Mr. Conrad states, “…the farmland and agricultural investment sector has reached a state of maturity and the best way to generate value within the space in the future will be to take an opportunistic approach to identifying and exploiting market inefficiencies.”
Other members of the AgIS management team are Chief Investment Officer, Ken Warlick, and Chief Financial Officer Carolyn Bailey. Mr. Warlick was formerly Vice President and Director of Acquisitions at HAIG since 2007, and Ms. Bailey was formerly Vice President and Director of Financial Accounting and Client Reporting at HAIG since 2001. Since its inception, the firm has also attracted the talents of a broad group of analysts, partners, and advisors.
AgIS is currently fully funded, however the firm plans to add additional large separate account clients to participate in the firm’s robust deal flow it has generated.
