Fresh Milk ‘Pipeline’ to China Opens

Dairy Connect NSW, dairy co-operative Norco, and international export consulting company Peloris Global Sourcing have confirmed that 1,000 liters or Norco milk has been shipped to China last month utilizing a new cold chain pipeline that cuts shipment times for Australian milk to China to within seven days.  The three companies have worked with Chinese officials over the past year to achieve a quarantine clearance agreement to bring delivery times within the shelf life of fresh Australian pasteurized milk which would open the possibility for the significant expansion of Australian milk exports to China each year.  Norco chairman Greg McNamara states that the pipeline has the capacity to deliver more than 20 million liters of fresh milk to China within the first twelve months, and the co-operative has plans to commence commercial shipments of its full range of fresh products within the coming weeks.
