Illinois Farmland Prices Reach $14,359 Per Acre in Schrader Auction

Two farms in Dewitt County, Illinois located between Decatur and Clinton, Illinois sold for a combined total price of $7,089,000 in an auction that drew over 30 bidders.  The first 255.7 acre farm was offered in three tracts which sold for $3,672,000, or $14,359 per acre.  The second 285.4 acre farm sold in four tracts for a total price of $3,417,000 or $11.972 per acre. Bidding was solidly split between farm operators and investors and the president of Schrader Real Estate Auction Co. stated that sales are reflecting strong farmland values as it remains a positive long-term investment.
