According to the Annual report of New Zealand Winegrowers, in the twelve month period ending June 30th the value of New Zealand wine exports increased by 3% to a record NZ$1.21 billion (US$943.8 million) but volume fell by 5% because of a small grape harvest in 2012. These results have driven the establishment of new vineyards and renewed optimism within the industry. In 2013 ideal growing condition led to a record grape crop of 345,000 tons – an increase of 28% over 2012. This improved supply should renew export growth in the coming year.
