Private equity firm, PDC Capital Group is raising $45 million through EB-5 Immigrant Investors funds to assist California-based biotech company, Clear Currents Inc. meet its expansion goals.
EB-5 Immigrant Investor visas are part of a U.S. federal program launched in 1990 under which a foreign national may apply for permanent U.S. residency in exchange for a minimum investment of $500,000 in an American business.
Clear Currents Inc. develops environmentally safe, non-toxic agricultural products with the goal of creating healthier crops, improving food quality, and repairing soil damage left by traditional chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
The company has recently completed multi-year trials of several of its products in association with the Ministry of Agriculture in China, and states it has secured order commitments with an approximate value of $200 million.
Clear Currents is positioning for expanding its operations, and entering into foreign markets including the EU, Middle East, Africa and Brazil, and has expressed future plans for registration as a public company.
