The Perich Group of Bringelly, Australia is planning to invest $100 million into its Australian dairy operations to gain market share in Asian markets. The group is encouraging farmers to return to dairying as it plans to acquire more farms, construct dairy manufacturing plants, and develop new products. In April, Perich subsidiary Freedom Foods’ Pactum Dairy finalized an agreement with China’s Bright Dairy to supply long-life milk. Pactum will also expand it Sydney operations, open its new facility at Ingleburn in 2015, and will expand its production capacity at its plant at Shepparton in Victoria. Perich’s Freedom Foods also owns a stake in New Zealand-listed A2 Milk Corporation.
