Qatar’s Hassad Foods Buys Stake in Oman Poultry Project

Qatar’s Hassad Food, the agricultural investment arm of its sovereign wealth fund, announced it has acquired a 33.25% stake in Oman-based A’Saffa Foods from the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID). The deal was completed on behalf of Hassad through its wholly owned subsidiary, Zulal Investment Co. A’Saffa Foods, formerly A’Saffa Poultry Farms is the largest integrated poultry operation in Oman covering a 40 square kilometer farm producing both fresh and frozen poultry products. Over the next three to five years, the company plans to expand into other parts of the food chain and other global regions beyond Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
