SG Biofuels in partnership with Airbus SAS are seeking $30.6 million in financing from the Inter-American Development Bank for the development of jatropha plantations in Guatemala. Jatropha is an inedible plant native to Central America which seeds are crushed to produce oils that are processed into biofuels. The plantation will produce 6.2 million gallons of plant oils per year.
