I have posted about Japan’s changing investment landscape due to ultra low interest rates, a shrinking and aging population, and increasing liabilities and challenges in meeting return expectations. Their government is encouraging Japanese institutional investors and their advisors to allocate abroad into alternatives and higher yielding asset classes such as real assets, private equity, and infrastructure. Brown Brothers’ recent article does a great job in describing these shifts https://lnkd.in/d9FJ8Ak .
Meeting these pension, life insurance, financial service, and corporate investors, essential for global fund raising processes, is even more critical in Japan where relationships are highly valued. For those reading this who are seeking outside capital for your company or fund and are interested in meeting with Japanese investors and partners, I’d encourage you to attend the Global AgInvesting Asia (GAI) conference October 2-3, ’18 in Tokyo, Japan. GAI Asia’s agenda is here: https://lnkd.in/d3WkemC
