Two Rivers Water & Farming Co. has announced that it has acquired additional irrigated farmland in Pueblo Country, Colorado. The company will add the farmland to irrigated farmland that the company currently owns and present a 250 acre fruit and vegetable farm unit for sale to investors at the Global AgInvesting Conference in New York beginning April 28th. Two Rivers has created a farming and water business model suitable to the arid southwest U.S. The company acquires irrigated farmland used for feed crop production and redevelops it into fruit and vegetable production, integrating wholesale water distribution into the business model. Once redevelopment is complete the company sells the farmland to institutional investors with a lease-back from the investors to Two Rivers. The company plans to add 1,000 acres to its fruit and vegetable acreage in 2015 through the sale and lease-back transaction model.
