Ukraine Spring Sowing May Leave Less Area For Corn, Sunflowers

 

According to OilWorld, limited winter-kill losses and early spring planting in Ukraine will leave less acreage for later-planted crops such as corn and sunflowers.  As of mid-February winter grains successfully emerged from the soil on 98% of the planted area.  Of the grain crop, 91% was in good or satisfactory condition.  Farmers in Crimea have already begun planting early spring crops – mainly wheat and barley.
